Publication Process

Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, it enters the journal’s production process. Acceptance does not mark the end of editorial preparation. The manuscript undergoes final checks, copyediting, typesetting, author proofing, and publication before the Version of Record is released.

1. Acceptance Notification

Following a final editorial decision to accept a manuscript, the corresponding author will receive a formal acceptance notification from the journal.

Before production begins, the editorial office may verify or request completion of essential publication information, including:

  • author names and affiliations;
  • ORCID iDs, where available;
  • acknowledgements and funding information;
  • conflict of interest and other required declarations;
  • figures, tables, and supplementary files;
  • permissions for third-party material, where applicable; and
  • other metadata required for publication.

2. Article Processing Charge

IJPCR is an Open Access journal. Following acceptance, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 100 applies to published articles.

The APC is requested only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication and has no influence on editorial assessment, peer review, or the decision to accept or reject a manuscript.

Authors who may be eligible for a waiver or reduction should consult the journal’s Article Processing Charges and Waiver Policy.

3. Copyediting and Typesetting

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial and production preparation before publication.

This may include:

  • copyediting for clarity, consistency, grammar, and journal style;
  • verification of references and publication metadata;
  • preparation and placement of tables and figures;
  • formatting of the article according to the journal’s publication style; and
  • preparation of the final typeset proof.

Copyediting does not normally permit substantive changes to the research, argument, results, or authorship of an accepted manuscript.

4. Author Proofs

The corresponding author will receive a proof of the typeset article for final checking before publication.

Authors should carefully review:

  • author names and affiliations;
  • text and headings;
  • tables and figures;
  • equations or special characters, where applicable;
  • references and hyperlinks; and
  • formatting or production errors.

Proof corrections should be limited primarily to errors introduced during editing or typesetting and other necessary factual corrections. Substantial rewriting or changes to authorship are not normally permitted at this stage.

Authors should return proof corrections promptly within the deadline specified by the editorial office to avoid delaying publication.

5. Final Publication

After approved proof corrections have been incorporated and final production checks are completed, the article will be published online as the Version of Record.

The published article will include its final bibliographic information and Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where applicable, and will be made openly accessible under the journal’s applicable open-access licence.

The corresponding author will be notified when the article is published and will receive a direct link to the published Version of Record.

6. Post-Publication Corrections

Authors are expected to check proofs carefully before publication.

After publication, changes to the Version of Record will be made only where a correction is necessary to preserve the accuracy, integrity, or reliability of the scholarly record and will be handled in accordance with the journal’s correction and publication-ethics policies.
